Proboscis Monkey 

   The enormous nose and pot belly make the Proboscis Monkey easily recognisable. They inhabit costal swamps and mangrove forests of Borneo.

   It is believed that the larger the nose of a male monkey, the more endearing they are to females.

   They are not hard to see if you look in the right places, which are namely Kinabatangan River (in Sabah) and the Bako National Park in Sarawak.

   THREATS: 

In the last 40 years, the numbers of these monkeys has dropped dramatically because of habitat loss and hunting
