Where to see the Long-eared Jerboa

The Long-eared Jerboa is found in low shrubs and sandy deserts in western Xinjiang in north west China to southern Mongolia.


Jack-in-a-box

This bouncing rodent is about the size of a large mouse and large ears like a rabbit.It has enormous back legs to power its leaps, and a long white tufted tail that acts like a prop when standing up right.

Scientist know very little about this creature.It is nocturnal and spends the day in burrows.It prefers insects to seeds.

Threats

The biggest threat to this adorable little rodent is the degradation of its habitat by the growing human population and its livestock.
